| The lack of bento updates |

Wow it's been a long time since I last updated. Sorry for having disappeared for a while. I still read the updates in here but have not been posting or commenting much. As I have recently mentioned on my food blog, I pretty much went 'off' food for the past few months while dealing with morning (read: all-day-and-night) sickness and the exhaustion typical of early pregnancy. I did very little cooking and not many bento lunches were packed. Even when I did pack lunches, they were not very inspired and I did not bother taking any photos. I am feeling much better now halfway through my pregnancy (I am due at the end of April 2010) and it's been really good to get back to cooking and bento again. Here are a couple of them that made it to photos:
Chicken rice, cucumber slices, steamed chicken breast, char siew (Chinese bbq pork) and kai lan in oyster sauce.
Tuna pasta salad with sundried tomatoes, sliced red peppers and hummus
I am looking forward to getting back to more regular bento-making in the new year. I know that most people are probaly busy with holiday festivities now. | Hime Lolita brands? |

I looked in the memories and searched through everything I could think of, but I did not find anything satisfactory.. I love hime lolita, but I don't know if there are any brands that can be associated with (or extravagant enough for) hime.. I want to look at brands that make clothes specifically for hime lolitas. Hime gyaru is fine too, if anyone can think of brands for that, but they're not the same :<
so does anyone know any brands that specialize in, or come close enough to, hime lolita or gyaru (preferably lolita)? or can point me to a thread that answers this question? If you find clothing that fit this style, off-brand or brand, but it's not all about hime, posting the specific item would be great too <3 |

I'm bored and there hasn't been a post like this in a while i think... i would love to see pics of you and your significant other, are they into your style? Mine certainly is. We actually met because a mutual friend thought we might like to work on our cosplay for a local anime convention together. It was kinda love at first sight. Been together ever since and have slowly amassed our wardrobe together (i'm a kodona sometimes too lol)
This isn't the best pic of us (i hate my outfit lol)
I look forward to seeing/hearing about all the cute couples!

| Paint, XBox, Job Hunting |

Hello Montreal. I have three questions to ask you (triple-banger!)
1. Cheap paint. I have just moved here and would like to paint but am on a tight budget. I hear Renaissance sells paint. I'm going to be trying all the hardware stores and asking them if they have mismatched paint, so I'm looking for a specific suggestion. The rooms can all be different colours, quantity is not an issue!
2. Where is a trustworthy place to get an XBox fixed? The warranty has run out and they charge $130 (Red Ring of Death) for repairs. ;[
3. Job hunting. I know to check with services such as YES and check online (Craigslist and Kijiji), but aside from up and down St. Catherine or St. Denis, where are some good places to walk to look for jobs? I do speak French and live near Metro Beaudry for reference, but it doesn't have to be near there.

I know this might be a stupid question but...Why can't you make a coord with leggings? I mean, I understand that the capri-length ones are a little weird-looking, but the long ones would look cute with a coord, and keep you warm! (and also very nice for those of us who hate socks XD)

| Art Post: The Rabbit and the Wolf |

Normally, I don't work this fast, but I've had a few days off from work, and a lot of pent-up artistic energy because of it.
This is the second in the series that I started yesterday, and this time the subjects are the Rabbit and the Wolf. As with the Swan, I wanted to create an image that depicts the personalities of the characters through their clothes, expressions and postures. I also wanted both characters to look exotic, but distinctly different from one another. Certain elements were kept to unify the two (mostly color choices, and the roses), but they are each very unique.

Haven’t really been brining lunch to school recently ever since I discovered my school’s salad bar!
Top: Broccoli and leftover baked potato
Left: Honey turkey, lettuce and mayo on a whole wheat roll
Right: Pineapple Tidbits
With today being the last day of school before vacation, I don’t think I’ll be having any more bentos until the new year.

If you are looking for a Little Black Dress try Reitmans. The one in Place Ville Marie had quite a few (in about 8 styles) and they are all under $30. Also, there is the *nicest* saleslady there. I wish I'd gotten her name.
If you are like me and on the rubenesque side don't despair-- the XL is equivalent to about a 14.
